Losing your sight can change everything, especially without access to proper healthcare. Restoring it lets people return to work, care for their families and take part fully in community life.
How the program works
We provide lenses and surgical consumables to government hospitals in Kilinochchi, Nawalapitiya and Dickoya, whose eye teams carry out surgeries for underprivileged patients every month. In 2025 we also supported surgeries for patients from Kilinochchi at Jaffna Teaching Hospital, including their transport.
This model uses existing hospital facilities and skilled health professionals, with ACT supplying what the surgeries need. We hope to extend it to more hospitals across the country.
